What is the definition of locally sourced food?

When something has a label that says “local” and is in your grocery store, does that really mean it is locally sourced food?

Local should be defined as how close to home you are getting this product from. Local meats are usually defined as those that have been processed, slaughtered and sold within a certain radius of where they were produced. However, many people don’t know how to make sure their meat is truly local because the term “local” can be used in different ways by producers. For example, some may say it’s “local” if just the slaughtering was done locally while others might consider it only to be true when the animal has lived its entire life on one farm or ranch before being killed there too–and everything in between!

The definition of “local” varies depending on who you ask and where they live, but it usually means the food comes from within around 100 miles or less from home. This could mean locally grown produce, dairy, meat, seafood and other foods.

Buying local meats is a great way to get fresh meat and support local farmers, but it’s important to know what the label really means. Some grocery stores sell locally raised meats that aren’t actually from your Provence; they’re just labelled as local because of their geographic proximity. To ensure you’re getting an authentic product with all its benefits, ask where exactly this meat came from before buying it! Or perhaps what we need to do is go back to basics and start buying more products like eggs, milk, cheese and meat at our farmer’s markets or other farm-to-table establishments. That way we can know for sure where these items come from while also reducing greenhouse gases by not shipping foods far and wide.

If you are looking for a way to help reduce your carbon footprint, one of the easiest things you can do is eat locally raised meats. When we say “local” here, it means eating meat from animals grown here on our farm. Our family farm has been raising our lamb since 2012; as such, we know how important it is to buy local because we care about supporting other small businesses in this region.

Here at Lambtastic Farms, we want to make sure we are providing our customers with the best quality of products and service so they can enjoy their experience here in person or online, but also provide them with information about where their food came from.

Our goal is for people who shop here to feel like they have gone back in time when there were no grocery stores, just family farms. We take pride in raising all of our livestock naturally without any antibiotics or hormones and give them plenty of space to roam around outside which means less carbon footprint than most other places.
